Beauty Amid the Flames of War - Episode 9

After a woman apparently jumped from Lotus Pavilion, the lake is searched but no body is found. The ruler demands answers; a eunuch says he saw a woman leap, and staff are ordered to tell the captain they witnessed it. The ruler then accuses his subordinate Ian of lying and poisoning him, threatening severe punishment and branding. He commands Mirabel: "Find her alive or bring back her body." The episode ends with Mirabel sent to find proof and Ian under a lethal threat, while the woman's fate remains unresolved.
