At school a student is taunted about chasing Eve, the class beauty; he insists, "I'm not pursuing her." A shop worker then asks him to invest in a small business; he agrees to hear details later because Eve called him a "good person." At home, he's invited to Friday dinner but already promised Sue a concert. He phones his grandmother to ask to stay in the countryside Friday; she refuses—she and grandpa will be in the city for their eldest grandson's speech.
