Military leaders argue: Governor Lloyd accepts that Zachary's record merits Major but orders surveillance; General Silva refuses to accept Benjamin's move and vows, "If Benjamin thinks we raised his son for him, he's mistaken! Zachary is leaving with us, whether he agrees or not." Later, Old Mr. Norman treats the young rising warrior, offers medicine and declares, "I intend to make you my grandson-in-law!"
