At Morvran Manor a ritual begins: Ms. Janice Yale prepares to drop her blood on a wooden stake to ignite a Wight's Bane she made from her sister Wendy, vowing it will slaughter everyone and make her the Crown Prince's concubine. A household member confronts her and pleads for Lord Morvran, but Janice insists and activates the stake. The summoned fire unexpectedly targets the ritualist instead of Wendy, searing her as the room panics. The episode ends as a new presence interrupts: "I heard you're looking for me?"
