At a party, guests watch Faye smiling as her fiancé Duncan kisses another woman and accuse him of toying with her. They say he acts devoted to Faye but flirts openly and warn that if she regained her lost memory she'd be heartbroken. Hosts break up the kissing, announce the next round, and someone scolds the pair to stop. In front of everyone Duncan declares, "Even if you have lost your memory, your love for me is written in your bones," forces a kiss, and Faye starts to reply before being cut off—leaving whether she remembers unresolved.
