On a street a young woman is harassed after her bowl is knocked away. A gang taunts her as a 'master' trains a beggar, ordering "Pick up the bowl" and saying, "Remember the Nether King's eighth rule: kill with a smile." The men debate tying or seizing her and escalate threats—apologize and leave, or "you'll lose a limb or die." When she asks, "You want me dead?" their leader steps forward, asserts his authority and orders, "Get on your knees when you talk to me." Her defiance meets that command, leaving her fate unresolved.
