Mr. Hunt confronts Sean after Keith returns and a report reveals Queenie is twelve weeks pregnant. He reproaches Sean for failing to win Queenie and demands to know whose child it is. When Sean first claims responsibility to stop the attack, Mr. Hunt calls the report possibly faked and presses harder. Cornered, Sean withdraws his claim and admits only that the baby is Queenie's. Mr. Hunt explodes, dismisses them with contempt and declares this his final action before the divorce, leaving paternity disputed and divorce imminent.
