Sharon Lynd arrives to meet Mr. Ted but their first moments explode into a parking dispute after his car is damaged and each accuses the other of stealing the spot. Sharon denies ramming him and offers a small bag of fruit as compensation, which he rejects as insufficient. He cuts her off, bluntly declares they are not a match and insults her background as a "farm girl." Sharon pleads she drove hours on her father's errand, but he sends her away, her protest unanswered and the arranged meeting left bruised and unresolved.
