During a meeting Sharon calls her director with an emergency: the car he lent her was wrecked and the woman responsible—who says she works for Howard—demands $10 million and threatens Sharon's life. The director interrupts, insults the caller and exposes her role, while the woman sets a 20-minute deadline and promises violence if payment is late. To protect Sharon the director concedes to pay, then unexpectedly raises the sum to $100 million and asks for the woman's location to wire funds, leaving Sharon's safety unresolved as the money is mobilized.
