A break-in is discovered: the study was ransacked and a letter is missing. Guards immediately seal every exit and order everyone who entered or left today to be searched. Officers claim Gideon snuck into the study and say the stolen letter should be on Prince Yoric, so servants and others present are ordered to search him. Jaxon mocks Yoric’s disability and a man draws his sword, but Alexia refuses to be cowed. She steps forward, insists she'll search him herself, grabs his hands and accuses him of hiding the letter, leaving the estate tense and the letter's fate unresolved.
