New Year, New Truth: I'm Not Poor - Episode 1

When John's mother is found cleaning streets despite heart disease, John vows to buy her medicine with his year-end bonus and bring his girlfriend Tina home for New Year. Unbeknownst to him, his wealthy parents are secretly staging poverty and intend to test any woman he introduces. Tina, who spent his bonus on a necklace, refuses to visit, demands the money back and angrily breaks up, then brags she could 'rent' someone to play girlfriend. The episode ends with a woman declaring, "Starting today, John is my boyfriend," leaving his homecoming and the family's test unresolved.
