At a family confrontation over Casey's health and an alleged hit-and-run, Rose refuses her mother's demand to sign a settlement before hospital care. Her mother and other relatives accuse Rose of arranging the earlier car accident and of living off the family for treatment. Rose retorts she sacrificed her own happiness and then announces she will cut ties with the Lanes.
