At Wendy's wedding venue Mr. Moore bursts in with a gun, accuses Sam Arther of ruining his daughter's wedding and taunts that Sam is a coward unfit to protect Wendy. He orders Sam to leave, even offering money as a buyout—take it and never see his daughter again. Sam refuses the payoff, insists he's not asking permission, and publicly declares, "I, Sam Arther, am going to marry Wendy." Mr. Moore briefly lets the scene pass for Wendy's sake but his threat remains; the episode closes with Sam standing his ground and the father's warning unresolved.
