Tyrese Mayer was Blueland’s prodigy until his cousin Jody Hodson coveted his kirin Bone and plotted to strip him and cast him into the Beastgrave. At the grave’s bottom, near death, he finds a dying black cub and binds his blood to it. The cub is a Voracity, a primordial devourer that consumes anything and returns power to Tyrese. They survive the burial by devouring demon beasts, pursuers and everything sent to finish them. As Tyrese rebuilds his body and awakens abilities he wasn’t born with, the cub he names Baemon grows stronger with every meal. When he returns, it’s not to flee but to settle scores, expose lies, and make the sect pay for throwing him away.

Jody really picked the wrong cousin to betray. Baemon's dinner habits are terrifyingly efficient. 😈

Sharp pacing and thematic focus make revenge satisfying. Baemon's feeding mechanic cleverly externalizes Tyrese's power growth.
