Chad realizes his card is upstairs and asks his mother, who is a maid, for her savings card. She refuses—it's all she has and she's afraid of being exposed and embarrassed. Chad insists Sophie must have frozen his cards to force him to admit defeat and refuses to apologize. He fears that yielding will make Sophie love him less. He also overheard Sophie organizing Dad's birthday banquet and planning a public proposal to him. The episode ends with mother and son bracing for the banquet, forced to choose whether to surrender the savings or let Sophie's plan control them.
