Fabian returns and is blasted by the patriarch for a past affair the family says led to a pregnant woman's death. The father insults him, rejects his attempt to end an arranged engagement to Marisa, and insists he marry. Fabian admits he fought the previous night to protect a bullied girl, declaring anyone who hurts her is attacking him. Infuriated, the patriarch orders Caden to uncover who the girl Fabian has secretly sheltered for years and bring her to him immediately. Caden leaves on the search, setting up an immediate confrontation if the hidden girl is exposed.
