Investigators tell Mr. Jackson his uncle Leo met Master Quintus six months ago and that Quintus lives in the southern suburbs; Jackson orders Wilson to bring people to question her as the suspected attacker. Later Shawn collapses and is carried in. A master diagnoses the Deadly Curse, says he can't reach Shawn in time, and prescribes a ritual: boil the Sovereign's Charm in Rootless Water, add blood from the patient's family's middle finger, and have Shawn drink it. With his parents overseas, they must find Uncle Leo or the 'destined lover' to provide the blood, setting a race to save Shawn.
