While She Starved - الحلقة 2

Food arrives and children call, but the visit turns explosive when Edwin returns. Fern confronts him, accusing him of abandoning the family; Edwin says he came back to divorce her because military housing requires a marriage certificate and he wants to give Vera a home. Fern, who waited three years, accuses him of letting their children starve to death. Neighbors dismiss her and a child complains about stale meat buns. Someone defends Edwin, insisting he loved Fern and is helping the other woman. The episode closes with Fern's accusation unanswered as Edwin vows housing first, divorce later.
