You're My Northern Star - Episode 1

During the school's one-mile race a female student collapses, bleeding and in active labor. Paramedics rush her to hospital and diagnose a 20-week pregnancy at risk of miscarriage; they say urgent surgery needs family consent. Calls to her family are met with anger and refusal—threats to expel her and a refusal to pay for treatment. Staff demand the baby's father come immediately, but he isn't located. Earlier she had been selling lunch boxes to afford tuition. Mr. Cole arrives for an inspection, leaving her medical emergency and future unresolved.
