Other diners who recognize her from the day before misread her touch as forwardness. Their whispers escalate into a blunt rebuke invoking the Cole family: "A woman like her has no place in the Cole family." Her helpful action is confirmed, but the episode ends with her social acceptance—and any relationship to the Cole family—left uncertain.
