Dagger Beneath the Silk - Episode 1

Attackers sent by Lord Stark burst into Maya Thornton’s delivery intending to kill her while she labors. They order servants away, insist a woman in childbirth is weakest, and press the strike; Maya says, "I, Maya Thornton, have never just sat and waited to die." A royal proclamation shown earlier names her Marquis Valen and records her marriage to Henry Stark. Conspirators gloat they doctored her pregnancy with tonics; the fetus miscarried and they claim the title. Maya survives with Moonrend but loses her child and faces a usurped title and immediate threat.
