On crowded Antique Street, thugs demand treasures at a stall and force a mock broken rock into a shopper's hand. The object is then revealed to be the egg of the divine Platinum Dragon King, which forms an unconditional contract on hatching and is worth over $100 million. Max, who'd been asleep, is shaken awake, brings food but learns the girl is in danger and rushes out. The Paranormal Investigation Bureau is blamed as agents move in to seize the suspect. Just as arrest seems imminent, someone declares the true "main course" has arrived, leaving the threat unresolved.

Ms. Lindt cuts her leave short, digs through records and finds a link to Mystic Hall’s former second-in-command, Ethan Baldwin—she murmurs, "Found it." Alarmed, she pleads with Max and Mr. Dunn to help and to flee now, leaving their choice and the looming handover unresolved.

He uncovers a thirty-year-old case: Ethan Baldwin’s wife Candice Leed died by suicide, then at her burial became an evil spirit that killed the Baldwin sons. The Paranormal Investigation Bureau sealed the entity and left North Ridge a forbidden zone. The investigator says only registered S-rank Mr. Dunn can continue. Dunn nervously accepts, insisting he won't abandon the client. They arrive at North Ridge's sealed boundary, and Dunn now faces the immediate choice to enter and confront the sealed danger or turn back.
