Sam, the Bennetts' son who lost a tender to Colin and went bankrupt, abducts two women Colin loves and blames Colin for ruining his life. He forces Colin to choose one to live and threatens the other. Colin refuses to decide and fights to save both, insisting he won't leave either behind. At one point he admits, 'I do hate you. But you're still my wife, so I'll protect you.' As warnings and shouts fill the scene, someone calls 'Nora!' — the rescue attempt stalls and the women's fates remain uncertain.
