At a company meeting Mr. Dutt suddenly fires Rex Palmer and introduces Jim Dolly as the new head in charge of the Loki System. Colleagues protest that Rex is needed to keep the project on track, but Dutt accuses the team of coasting and insists Jim can handle it; Jim insists the system is easy. Rex objects, calls the appointment irresponsible and declares, "I'm calling Ms. Brook right now." Dutt first orders him to stop, then permits the call, leaving leadership of the Loki System and the project's future hanging on Ms. Brook's response.
