At breakfast, Carine, the young tutor hired by Jensen Fort’s mother, rejects the prepared dishes and orders them redone. Jensen refuses to eat his favorites and threatens to starve rather than be lectured. Carine scolds him for wasting food, saying she was hired not just to tutor but to correct his ways, and demands obedience. The fight escalates until Jensen’s mother sides with Carine, forces him to eat everything he dumped, and ends his protest. Humiliated, Jensen vows, “Carine Nett, just you wait,” leaving Carine’s authority enforced but the feud unresolved.
