Sophie scrambles at home, repeatedly telling Spencer to stop and sending her dog Lucky to fetch milk, then panics when she remembers the new CEO is arriving and rushes to work. At the office she borrows makeup and coworkers warn that the new boss is strict and ruthless—"if we're late, we're toast." They hurry downstairs to welcome Mr. Xavier. When he appears Sophie realizes he is her ex. She freezes on sight, forced to mask her shock and keep her composure as he steps into the room.
