Synopsis

Kain Harris runs a small shop and looks ordinary. He isn't. Quietly, his abilities have compounded beyond the world's scale—where thirty is the highest known level, there is no measure for him. His wooden carvings manifest as gods. Comics he crafts accelerate transcendence. His dog devours celestial bodies. His simple catfish soup breeds dragons. At home his wife is a CEO; his admirer is a martial saint; his neighbors are the nation's greatest cultivators. They all know exactly what he is and keep watch. Outside his street, life proceeds in ignorance. The day that ignorance ends will be seismic. Secrets will fracture reputations, alliances will be tested, and the world will be forced to reckon with a power it never imagined.

I keep telling friends to binge it. Somehow wooden sculptures, comics, and soup feel oddly normal here.

Watching Kain carve a god made my chest ache. The domestic quiet with a CEO wife felt tender and dangerous.

Masterful restraint, hilarious weirdness, and emotional depth. This show surprised me with quiet monstrous miracles.
