A furious crowd corners a woman and blames her for Lilian's death, demanding prison. A man, saying "Lilian is the love of my life," accuses her of pushing Lilian to her death and calls her a gold-digger. Another voice says the woman forced "her future daughter-in-law into despair;" Zina tries to defend her but is shouted down. Pressure escalates when someone offers the accused cash and orders, "Disappear from his world." The woman, faced with public condemnation and a bribe, replies "Impossible...", leaving her choice and the fallout unresolved.
