During a heated confrontation a woman accuses Zina of scheming to push Lilian away and force her into giving up Yoel. Zina denies it while the woman insists on proof, then declares, "I'm carrying Yoel's child." Zina and others reject the claim, call the baby someone else's and urge her to "get rid of that bastard." Voices then condemn Zina for harming her grandchild and accuse someone—"She killed our child!" The woman breaks off their cooperation and vows to reclaim Yoel, leaving the pregnancy and killing allegation to trigger the next showdown.
