Mr. Walton brings Ms. Summers (Chloe) to a dinner at the Imperial to quiet friends teasing him about being single. When peers prod, he claims Chloe is his girlfriend. After they leave, guests gossip that James actually likes her. Later, Evan and a friend spot Chloe getting into a car and follow to see whose it is. Mr. Walton notices the tail and Chloe identifies the follower as her boyfriend, Evan. Evan moves to approach them, and Chloe pleads, "Please don't!", leaving an imminent confrontation unresolved.
