At a rural river, a woman confronts Ian for jumping in despite a no-swimming ban. Ian insists he wasn't swimming and says he's from Granton; his mother brought him to recover. Back home someone asks why he ran out; he says the house felt suffocating and he's started walking, then mutters, "I'll just find another way to end it then," turning recovery into crisis. Elsewhere, Alice returns to her grandmother, who orders wild greens and, calling Alice her only family, asks, "How are you going to get by once I'm gone?" Both scenes end on unresolved choices.
