At a gathering, Layla is ordered by Zack and his friends to kneel and pour drinks as an apology. The men—led by Zack and Ned—mock her past as class monitor and say they'll "teach her" to behave as a proper wealthy wife, calling women "like dogs." Layla is forced to serve Mr. Morris but refuses to submit quietly. When they demand she kneel, she snaps, "You want me to kneel? Who do you think you are?"
