Fields That Dream of Her - Episode 7

At a tense family confrontation, Michael humiliates Celeste, claims she lost her virginity to a thug, announces he will marry Melanie and demands the betrothal back. Celeste pleads they are truly in love and begs her father not to force the break. Her father interrupts, accuses Michael of exploiting the family, taking a mistress and causing his wife's death, and says he'll call off the engagement only if the dowry is returned. Michael refuses; the father vows to reclaim every cent and threatens violence. The scene closes when one side reveals backup, turning the dispute into a tense standoff.
