At home a woman asks Uncle Shane for his blessing, insisting she and Michael truly love each other and the wedding is tomorrow. Another woman threatens she'll announce herself as his new stepmother at the ceremony. Someone claims Michael forged a letter to smear a sister from the countryside and vows to defend her at the wedding. At the pre-wedding banquet guests gossip that Celeste ran off and Melanie took her place. Celeste then appears; Melanie snaps, "Don't even think about stealing my wedding with Michael," leaving the ceremony poised for a public clash.
