At the hospital Rachel is told her only remaining kidney is failing and she has one week to live. A grieving parent confronts her, blaming her for a daughter's death and a son's kidney rupture. Despite the prognosis, Rachel volunteers to donate a kidney to Joseph—same blood type—and the doctor accepts. Later she's pulled from work to the Rose Lounge where Mr. Ziegler introduces her at a firm event and Mr. Chandler publicly asks, “Rachel Anderson, will you marry me?” She doubts she deserves it as colleagues toast.
