On Joseph’s engagement day a woman who once expected to marry him returns his ring, says she’ll donate a kidney to Yasmin and tells him to forget her. She proceeds to surgery with Dr. Zander, announcing she’s ready. Back at the office Joseph’s boss asks where Rachel is after she fails to answer messages. Minutes later the hospital informs Mr. Chandler that Ms. Anderson’s kidney removal — after a donation five years earlier — was completed and she died during the operation. The episode ends with her death leaving the engagement and the promised transplant unresolved.
