In heavy rain, Shelly sits in Mr. Coffey's car after visiting her ex‑fiancé's dead sister, Lea, and demands to be let out. Mr. Coffey confronts her, accusing her of walking away when Lea died and of leaving him severely injured. He says William told him he hates her and wants her gone. Shelly insists it’s none of his business and fears her husband will misunderstand. Mr. Coffey escalates, taunting her about a five‑year affair—sleeping together, being her first man and the marks he left—leaving Shelly cornered and exposed to William’s declared hatred.

To everyone's surprise Mr. Coffey appears and asks who was sent; Kirby explains Coffey sent Director Zamora from marketing and formally introduces him to Shelly, saying they'll have plenty of collaboration. Before Shelly can respond, Kirby excuses himself to use the bathroom, leaving her alone to face Coffey's representatives and the high-stakes meeting now underway.

Mr. William Coffey, CEO of Coffey Group, unexpectedly visits Cloud Hotel where Shelly Richards has just started as Yolair’s new creative director. Staff exchange polite introductions while Coffey tours the space. After brief pleasantries he asks to speak with Shelly and leaves a message and an item with a colleague. Coworkers murmur about calling him “Mr. Coffey,” since Cloud Hotel answers to Coffey Group. As the office clears the colleague tells Shelly, “He needs to talk to you,” then hands her the item and orders: “Take it off.”

Shelly returns to Ayrith City and is immediately confronted by the Coffey family, who accuse her of abandoning them while their daughter Lea died at 20. They blame her for choosing marriage and a child while Charlie was released from prison and Lea lies in a cold grave. Shelly insists she never forced Lea to date Charlie, says thugs targeted Charlie, and argues the family failed to discipline Lea. She says she came back for her life and career, not to haunt them. Someone diverts attention by asking "Who's that gorgeous woman?" Finally Mom arrives and apologizes: "Mom came home late." Her return stops the crying but leaves her earlier absence unresolved.

After a presentation, Mr. Coffey presses for a decision and discovers the company's director is absent; Ms. Richards has returned to the UK. Shelly skipped the meeting, so Coffey reads it as disrespect and moves to cancel the partnership. Mr. Kirby angrily confronts Shelly and she promises to return immediately to salvage the deal, incredulous that "William" is behaving so childish. In a separate late-night scene, a child named Andy wakes and asks his mother, "Can I go with you?" The episode closes with the partnership threatened and the mother's travel plans left unresolved.

At home, Ms. Richards soothes her young son Andy after he asks why he doesn't have a father; she alternately says his father "doesn't like you" and then that he passed away, while promising she will always be there. After giving Andy cookies, Ms. Richards goes to Yolair to find Mr. Coffey. Reception first says he's away, but an employee tells her Coffey will be hiking in mostly undeveloped mountains tomorrow and suggests she can find him there, warning her to be careful. Armed with a location and a danger warning, she now must decide whether to pursue him into remote terrain.
