Sarah, the Chief Medical Examiner, returns to the day a rookie—Mia Zimmer, her boyfriend’s childhood sweetheart—publicly branded herself the 'Corpse Whisperer.' Sarah has always done painstaking autopsies, but Mia keeps repeating conclusions that win families' trust. After one grieving family accuses Sarah of desecration, they torture and kill her. In this episode Sarah wakes up again on the morning Mia first claims the title. Realizing time has reset, she decides to file her autopsy report before Mia can speak. The episode ends with Sarah racing to the autopsy room, fate still undecided.
