Madelyn shows up and confronts Trenton after finding Dwight in his bed, accusing him of sleeping with Dwight and calling him a jerk. Trenton insists he only helped the frail Dwight; Madelyn tells him to pursue the life he wants and walks away. Dwight then twists his ankle and needs hospital care while others shrug off Mr. Zoller's fury. Left alone, Trenton becomes disoriented, cries for help, and recognizes he has dementia. As his memories fade he murmurs, "Might as well end it here," leaving his immediate fate unresolved.
