The episode opens with the princess collapsed and unconscious at the palace gate after riding home through snow. Servants rush in and one is scolded for letting Ms. Lowe be protected while the princess returned alone because of an order. They recall the command forbidding attendants to follow the princess in and out—'having you was enough'—and a maid admits, 'If I had gone to fetch her, she would not...' Medical staff doubt snow alone caused Eloise's condition; a Revival Pill is proposed and an advisor stresses her life overrides the marriage deal. 'A marriage alliance? With who?'
