Reuben catches April admitting she would sleep with a wealthy man for money; stunned, he breaks up, saying he’s done living in hardship. Later at a glitzy party, April is pushed by former classmates into accepting a paid arrangement with Mr. Rogers — one night in his bed for a hundred-thousand-dollar purse. Pressured and pragmatic, she replies, "I'll do just anything." The crowd treats the decision like a spectacle and drinks trade at a thousand a glass. As she publicly accepts the offer, someone suddenly shouts, "That's enough!" leaving the breakup and her choice unresolved.
