After your puppets sever two evolved zombies' legs, you retrieve their red cores and rush home to study them. Concluding red cores drive evolution, you place the puppets in the stairwell and swallow both cores on the third floor. Power surges: wounds heal, muscles tighten, dark veins fade and your skin looks human again. The double cores, however, slam your mind— you pass out. Ivy, waiting on the ninth floor, hears the roars stop and fears you’ve become a shambler. You awaken far stronger and confident in your body, but the mental damage and Ivy’s alarm remain unresolved.
