A village crowd accuses a woman of stealing ginseng just as a boy named Sam appears riding a giant snow eagle. Neighbors panic and order guards to shoot the bird to 'save the child,' forcing the woman to plead she only tried to protect him. A witness recognizes her eyes, triggering a revelation: after Quella saved the Third Prince, Wendy pretended to help but actually brought Quella home to imprison, cut off her food, and torture her. Then a voice speaks through the woman: "Since I've taken over your body, this grudge, I will settle it," leaving the crowd shocked and the threat unresolved.
