At an engagement banquet Ada is pressured to perform cheerfully while friends tease and praise Tris. When the bill arrives, staff ask Mr. Young to settle it. His card is declined and then frozen. A guest coldly reveals, "All your cards are actually mine," and announces the total: 200 million, saying "You two can never afford it." The revelation flips the room from celebration to shame. Guests fall silent as Mr. Young and his companion are left with an unpaid, massive bill and an immediate, public decision about who will cover it.
