The new head orders Adana to apologize to Tris or be expelled. Accusations follow: someone questions the baby's paternity while Cecil says Tris is his girlfriend and the child is his. The head demands a public, on‑knees apology, but Adana refuses and asks why she should keep the baby if forced to humiliate herself. She declares, "I shouldn't keep it," leaving the clan divided and the child's fate undecided.
