The Lantern Keeps Score - Episode 1

After Ruby and others break the lantern's seal, a bound genie appears and the crowd demands impossible wishes—immortality, immortal rule, eternal youth, and even the genie's eternal servitude. The genie says those wishes carry too much karmic burden and cannot be fulfilled. Pressed and threatened, the genie decides to break its heavenly oath and burn its life force to reforge the cycle of reincarnation. The sky flips and everyone reverts to their original forms; frantic pleas to change the wishes come too late. The episode closes with the startling revelation that the genie actually reincarnated on the day Ruby broke the seal.
