The Lantern Keeps Score - Episode 5

A bound genie is pressured to grant three wishes under threat of erasure by Heaven. In the immediate scene a determined wisher declares, "I want to be Emperor," then orders her husband and later her father to be made Emperor. The genie warns that changing dynasties consumes vast spiritual power and that rulership requires exceptional talent and governance; she hesitates and searches for a way to avoid the karmic cost. Under coercion she relents and fulfills the wish. The episode ends with the wish granted and the genie’s draining burden left unresolved.
