With Madam Jensen in critical condition after surgery, Aunt Mia and family rush to manufacture good news for her grandson Claude — a marriage or a baby — to pull her through. Nurses point to an unmarried, pregnant cleaning woman; men corner and threaten her over ruined expensive shoes, offer a shady big-money deal, then forcibly take her when she refuses. At the hospital they admit they were sent by Madam Jensen and reveal Claude has been drugged so he won't remember. Claude wakes, sees the woman and finds her oddly familiar, leaving the scheme about to play out.
