Veil of Treachery, Crown of Power - Episode 4

When news breaks that Matt — now a top scholar — is divorcing Princess Lillian, the Goodwins and townspeople erupt in outrage. They accuse Matt of insulting the royal family and verbally assault Jerome, Matt’s aging teacher, who collapses and insists, “It’s all my fault,” while asking for a physician. Villagers call guards to haul Jerome away and blame Lillian for standing in their path to success. Lillian defends Jerome as his protector, but the Goodwins demand she leave Jaxon with him or be driven out. The episode ends with guards closing in and the parting taunt, “you asked for this.”
