In heavy rain Kayla kneels in public and is mocked by onlookers who accuse her of faking illness and ask if her rich boyfriend didn't help. Don (addressed as Mr. Blake) appears, worries she might die, and offers the hotel next door with hot water and an emergency kit. A rival taunts that Don still has feelings for Kayla and vows revenge. Desperate for money, Kayla meets a former lover who reveals he's now CEO of VM Group. He offers 'the chance to crawl back to me and serve me well,' forcing Kayla into a humiliating choice.
